What is SLCAP
SLCAP, Senderwood Linksfield Community Area Patrol, was founded in 2007 as a non-profit company and since inception has always been run autonomously by a committee of resident volunteers who live in the area. SLCAP was established as a security initiative to protect the residents of the area. At the time of inception, crime was at an all-time high.
Funding for our operations came from resident donations. Since inception, we have utilized the services of CORTAC who are well-established and well-respected.
SLCAP is the ONLY pro-active, non-profit and community owned and managed security initiative operating in the Senderwood, St Andrews, Bedford Park, Linksfield and Fairwood areas that:
- Operates 3 dedicated vehicles during the day and 5 at night, that patrol the area on a 24/7/365 basis manned by two armed and highly trained Tactical Officers.
- Operates a mobile drone and canine unit dedicated to the area.
- Has a dedicated staff of 25 Tactical Officers, plus an area manager and deputy area manager that work full time in the SLCAP area.
- Is run for the community as a community owned asset by a committee of unpaid volunteers who are themselves long standing residents of this area and whose only vested interest is the wellbeing and safety of our community.
- Is a genuine non-profit security initiative that uses all the revenue it generates to fund the security solution for the area.
- Has utilised the security services, long-standing area knowledge, and tactical expertise of CORTAC who have partnered with SLCAP since 2007.
- Has kept crime in our area at record lows and continues to do so every day.
- Offers residents the option of calling in any emergency or suspicious activity to its 24/7 control room that is in direct radio contact with all our vehicles and guards on 0861 267 822 or 087 803 0040
- Has dedicated Emergency WhatsApp groups, should a resident be unable to make a call.
- Communicates via more than 30 WhatsApp groups throughout the area so that residents can communicate freely with SLCAP and each other, on issues of common interest and through which we disseminate our weekly Highlights, Security Alerts and Tips.
- Our weekly Newsletter includes News, Incident Reports, Security Alerts and Tips.
- Works closely with all the resident’s associations and road closures in the area and actively patrols these road closures.
- Has a dedicated administrator team contactable during office hours.
Armed Response Excellence
Empowering Safety with Armed Response, Pro-Active Community Vigilance, and Tactical Mastery.
Powered by CORTAC, our vigilant 24/7 call centre swiftly dispatches SLCAP armed Tactical Officers in their specialised vehicles in response to alarm activations or urgent callouts. Tactical Officers never operate alone, they are always in teams of 2 or more.
With a portion of your monthly armed response fee fuelling SLCAP’s community security initiative, our dedicated patrols, comprising 3 daytime and 5 night-time vehicles, ensure rapid response times.
CORTAC will provide and install a radio in your home at no cost to you. You will be protected by CORTAC, able to press your panic button whenever you need to (unlimited call outs) and should you not feel comfortable to enter your home alone, call us, we will be there, providing the assurance you need.
Tactical Assurance
SLCAP’s Tactical Officers receive intensive training multiple times a year. This includes firearm training, tactics, first aid, firefighting, incident reviews, scenario-based training and much more. All Tactical Officers complete the Regulation 21 firearm training as prescribed by PSIRA.
The Tactical Officers working in the SLCAP environment know our streets, residents and the suburbs, they never leave the SLCAP area. These Officers are managed by shift commanders who each have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with SLCAP and 7 years’ experience with Cortac. We have 2 Operations Managers:
- Garth Lansdown, who has run our operations for the last 3 years and has been an integral part of Cortac for 16 years.
- Forget Ndlovu has been managing the team for 5 years and has been working for Cortac for 16 years.
Pro-Active Patrol
We enhance your security with 24/7 pro-active patrols by our dedicated fleet and tactical experts. Our vigilant presence extends across public spaces, strategically navigating unpredictable routes to ensure comprehensive coverage.
We pledge an immediate on-site response to any suspicious activity, ensuring swift and effective protection for our community. We are the only security organization dedicated to our SLCAP Community, never leaving the boundaries of Senderwood, Linksfield, St Andrews, Bedford Park and Fairwood.
These pro-active patrols, crucial to community security, rely on the generosity of our residents’ voluntary donations to the SLCAP Pro-Active Fund.
Each donation receives an 18A Certificate, providing the benefit of tax deductions.

Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)
Our off-site camera monitoring service, CORWATCH demonstrates sophistication and has consistently proven its effectiveness in investigations. Motion detection outside of your property immediately activates the alarm, ensuring immediate response before any suspect can access your property.
Licence Plate Monitoring is a critical component ensuring the identification of any wanted vehicle entering our area. The control centre is promptly alerted, and our patrol vehicles are dispatched immediately.
This monitoring system is integral to our post-incident investigations, assuring comprehensive security measures.
K-9 Unit
Our K-9 unit conducts routine patrols of the green belt and is promptly deployed as needed.
Drone Aerial Surveillance
Our drone is regularly deployed and remains readily available during crisis situations.
